
The academic program at LAS is
individualized to meet the unique needs of each
student. To this end, class sizes are small. The
primary goal of the program is to assess students’
needs and to implement teaching strategies that will
meet these needs. Additional program
objectives include:

Providing students with a
successful educational experience.

Developing each student’s
academic skills to meet his or her potential.

Assisting students in
improving their classroom behavior.

Increasing each student’s
ability to tolerate frustration and each
student's attention
span.

Preparing students for
their future after graduation (e.g., college,
trade school, work, etc.).

achievement regularly to determine academic
growth and development.

self-esteem and self-confidence.
